U.S. Department of Art & Technology
US DEPARTMENT OF ART & TECHNOLOGY WASHINGTON, DC - Secretary
Randall M. Packer today unveiled the new US Department of Art & Technology
Website (http://www.usdept-arttech.net) in an event at the US Department
of Art & Technology Office Building in Washington. The new site will be updated
frequently throughout the day with rapid posting of speeches, press conferences,
press releases and nominations. Audio and video from many Department events
will also be available. The audio broadcast of the Secretary's speech
from the recent swearing-in ceremony can be accessed on-line. The Website was designed
and programmed entirely by staff and included input from many Offices
and Bureaus, most notably the Under Secretary for Domestic Affairs and
the Under Secretary of the Bureau for the Blurring of the Real & Virtual,
who consult regularly on the Department's Website and telematic activities.
The US Department of Art
and Technology is the United States government's principal agency for
facilitating the artist's need to extend aesthetic inquiry into the broader
culture where ideas become real action. It also serves the psychological
and spiritual well-being of all Americans by supporting cultural efforts
that provide immunity from the extension of new media technologies into
the social sphere. URL: http://www.usdept-arttech.net 01-093 Return to the Department of Art and Technology news releasesU.S. Department of Art and Technology, Washington, DC, USA |
